Update in case of suspicious men in Marinette

MARINETTE, Wis. - A man involved in one of the pair of suspicious incidents in Marinette this week has been identified and is not a threat to the community according to police.

Officers from the Marinette Police Department were investigating two suspicious incidents in the city this week. The first occurred Wednesday afternoon and the second on Thursday.

A spokesperson from the Marinette Police Department said the male subject involved in the incident that occurred Wednesday in the 900 block of Carney Blvd. has been identified and poses no threat to the community.

In the incident on Wednesday, officers said a man knocked on the door of a residence and asked a young boy if his younger sister was home. The man asked for the girl by name.

That man has now been identified and cleared in the investigation.

Police are still investigating the incident that occurred Thursday nearby on the 1500 block of Carney Blvd.

In that case officers said a man was following a young boy. When the boy began running, the man ran to a blue pickup truck and fled east on Carney Blvd.

The suspect was in his late 20s to early 30s, had short brown hair, and was wearing a white sleeveless shirt and blue jeans.
