Jordan Jay Luckey, 22, was arraigned on a felony escape from jail through violence charge in Iron County Trial Court on Wednesday.

Luckey's attorney Roy Polich informed the court that he will be filing an order for a forensic examination of his client's competency for criminal responsibility and competency to stand trial by the end of the week.

With no objection from Iron County Prosecutor Melissa Powell, Judge C. Joseph Schwedler indicated that he would sign the order.

Luckey was remanded into the custody of the sheriff's department.

In addition to the escape charge, Luckey faces numerous other criminal charges for offenses that occurred in the days prior to June 11.
