Phone service out in Ishpeming

June 7, 2013
The Daily News

ISHPEMING - Phone service is currently unavailable to residents and businesses in the City of Ishpeming due to a cut in a phone line. Only landlines are affected, not cell phones. Residents without cell phones are asked to check with their neighbors in case they need to contact 911 for an emergency.

Bell Memorial Hospital has issued two cell phone numbers that may be called to reach the hospital/clinic in the event of emergency only. The numbers are: 906-360-8976 and/or 906-361-2776.

The issue is being worked on by AT&T.

A spokesperson for Marquette County Emergency Management said there is not yet an estimated time of repair and asked for patience and understanding while they work to fix the issue.
