IRON MOUNTAIN - The Daily News Newspapers in Education summer fund raiser is under way.
Each summer, N.I.E. sponsors "Dollars for Education" to raise money for the upcoming school year. Area businesses have signs available for sale for $1. Patrons can write their name or a message on the sign and have it displayed through August.
"This is a fun and easy way to show your support for the Newspapers In Education program, which provides newspapers and a variety of other teaching resources to our area schools," said Christopher Ashburn, The Daily News N.I.E. coordinator.

The N.I.E. Program is available free of charge to any teacher who would like to use the newspaper as a classroom teaching tool.
N.I.E. also provides newspapers to local adult education classrooms and the adult literacy program.
"Members of the community are encouraged to show their support for our program by donating a dollar at one of our many participating locations," said Ashburn.
