MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Bob and Kris Cary from the Sagola were the recipients of a special honor at a banquet held on April 20 in Milwaukee.
The Carys have been guests at Kathy's House, a hospital hospitality house in Milwaukee for several months in 2012 and 2013 while Bob was recovering from a stroke.
More than 250 people gathered at the Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee on April 20 to raise funds for Kathy's House and honor the Carys. They were awarded the Inspiration of Hope Award. The award is given to Kathy's House guests who demonstrate extraordinary courage and grace. While guests of Kathy's House the Carys served as volunteers and as a source of encouragement for many other guests staying at Kathy's House.
THE INSPIRATION OF Hope Award was presented by Patty Metropulos, left executive director of Kathy's House in Milwaukee to Kris Cary and Bob Cary of Sagola.
Kathy's House serves patients and families seeking medical treatment in Milwaukee area hospitals. Last year Kathy's House provided housing and served as support to 1,314 individuals - an increase of 300 over 2011.
Former Green Bay Packer Lynn Dickey was on hand and helping out with fund raising efforts. The band Alter Ego provided entertainment.
