IRON MOUNTAIN - An Iron Mountain man is facing a strangulation charge after a report of an assault at an Iron Mountain woman's house.
Kenneth John Blomquist, 47, is charged with assault by strangulation, a felony punishable by up to 10 years and/or $5,000 fine.
According to the felony complaint, on April 11, Blomquist went to a woman's house because he was upset over some text messages.
When he entered the house, he began to yell and threaten the victim. Blomquist grabbed the victim by the throat and strangled her until the victim had trouble breathing, the complaint said.
Redness around her neck was observed and she went to the hospital for treatment.
Arraignment is set before Judge Mary B. Barglind for May 13 at 1 p.m.
