Williams County Court officials said that 31-year-old Ryan Neil Anderson pleaded not guilty to felony counts of murder and attempted murder during a hearing on Wednesday.

Anderson will have a two-week jury trial, but a date has not yet been set.

He stands accused of fatally stabbing 32-year-old Christopher King of Iron River and attempting to stab David Nardi. No age or address was available for Nardi.

The charges stem from a March 17 incident at the Capitol Lodge mancamp located on U.S. 2 near Ray, N.D.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Sgt. Detective Caleb Fry in Williams County Court, Nardi said that Anderson had been involved in a physical altercation with his girlfriend.

Other occupants of the housing unit intervened and ended the altercation.

After leaving the scene, Anderson returned.

Surveillance footage showed Anderson approaching the commons area with his right hand in his front sweatshirt pocket.

The footage then showed King grabbing Anderson, and Anderson pulling an open three- to four-inch Schrade "Black Ice" folding knife out of his pocket.

King was stabbed twice in the chest and twice in the abdomen.

Nardi said that he tried to stop Anderson, but Anderson attempted to stab him in the chest.
