IRMA SHERMAN

Irma worked as a teller at the First National Bank in Iron Mountain for 23 years, retiring in 1977. She was a very active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.

Irma enjoyed going to ceramics class, and she could often be found in her kitchen adorned in a beautiful apron speckled with splatters of her wonderful spaghetti sauce and dusted with flour from either homemade spaghetti, ravioli, gnocchis or her favorite chumbolone that she so loved to bake and share with so many during Easter and throughout the year.

She was very proud of her Italian heritage. One of her greatest passions was dancing and after she lost her dance partner, in her husband Chuck, she would stoop to bribery to coax her youngest grandson Ian to dance with her to Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights during their weekly slumber party. Irma dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She was "Nana" to many.

She is survived by three sons, Randall (Mary Ann) Sherman of West Bend, Wis., Patrick (Sherryll) Sherman of Owosso, Mich. and Rick (Wanda) Sherman of Iron Mountain; two brothers, Robert Larson and Charles Larson; three sisters-in-law, Elaine Sherman, Dorothy Sherman and Rita Larson; one brother-in-law, John Fiorucci; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Irma was preceded in death by three sisters, Anne Seymour, Barbara Fiorucci and Christine Lonsforf and three brothers, Bernard DiUlio, Nels Larson and Jack Larson.

Visitation will be Monday, April 22, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Daughters of Isabella will recite the rosary at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will follow Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate.

Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
