MARQUETTE - One person was injured in an accident Monday in Ishpeming Township.
The crash occurred at 2 p.m. on County Road 587.
Deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff's Department said that 22-year-old Austin James Kennedy of Ishpeming was driving a 1993 Chevrolet two-door vehicle north when, due to the heavy snow, a southbound vehicle crossed into his path.
Kennedy avoided the collision, but went into the ditch and hit a large snow bank.
His passenger, 28-year-old David Schoewe of Ishpeming, was brought to Bell Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Assisting at the scene were Ishpeming Township Fire and Rescue, Ishpeming City Police, and Bell EMS.
