On February 26, 2013, the voters of the Iron Mountain School District will be asked to vote on whether they support a $9.5 million school remodeling proposal that will increase their property taxes by an average of $71 a year for the next 18 years.
As a 1973 graduate of Iron Mountain High School and a lifelong Mountaineer supporter I ask that you take the time to educate yourself on the proposal and come to the conclusion that a yes vote is a vote of confidence for our most prized possessions; our present and future students of the Iron Mountain School District.
The Iron Mountain Public Schools has a long and storied history of academic, extra-curricular and scholarship excellence made possible by a dedicated and outstanding Board of Education, administration, faculty and alumni that put students first.
The opportunity to help provide the students of the district with a modern day safe, secure, efficient and 21st century learning environment is paramount in that it will enable the current and future student - athletes of the district to compete on a level playing field with the surrounding district's, the state of Michigan and a global economy.
A vote of yes on February 26, 2013 is an opportunity to not only invest in the future of our students but yours and the future of the community as well.
Help the Iron Mountain School District build on their traditions and enhance their future by voting yes on February 26.
