BATTLE CREEK - Norway will take on defending state champion Hudson in the MHSAA Division 4 team wrestling quarterfinals.

State officials Sunday determined the seeding and schedule for the state meet at Kellogg Arena.

The eighth-seeded Knights (21-2) and top-seeded Tigers (27-6) clash at 4:30 p.m. (Central time) Friday. Hudson is also Division 4's top-ranked team by Michigan Grappler.

"What a great experience for this team," Knights coach Nick Burklund said. "This will get us one step closer to hopefully one day winning a title of our own.

"As much as I hate to say it, this is a perfect match-up. To be the best, you have to beat the best and for us to see that kind of competition is great because we will see what it takes to get to the top."

The other Division 4 quarterfinals match No. 4 Bronson (21-0) vs. No. 5 Sand Creek (26-8), No. 3 New Lothrop (31-4) vs. No. 6 Carson City-Crystal (26-6) and No. 2 Hesperia (31-4) vs. No. 7 Kent City (35-4).

In Division 3, No. 2 Richmond (24-4) and No. 7 Gladstone (12-0) will collide at noon.

Norway will leave Thursday for Battle Creek. Team wrestling semifinals and finals will take place Saturday.
