NORWAY - Branson, Mo. headliners "The Cat's Pajamas" will be performing at Norway High School on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Norway Fine Arts Center as part of their sixth annual Music in Schools Tour.
Tickets can be purchased at the door the evening of the concert. Prices are $7 for students, and $14 for adults.
This annual tour brings choral clinics and evening concerts to communities across the nation to raise money for music education programs.
The Cat's Pajamas perform pop classics ranging from the '50s and '60s all the way up to today in their innovative a cappella style.
In past years The Cat's Pajamas have raised more than $50,000 for music programs and 2013 is set to be the biggest tour to date benefiting 20 Wisconsin and Michigan communities.
The Cat's Pajamas goal is to inspire students, generate increased interest in music, and encourage all youths and teens to get involved in the arts and continue their involvement throughout life by working with them during the day and then presenting a world-class show open to the entire community in the evening.
Two members of The Cat's Pajamas are music educators certified in choral and general music who conduct in school workshops to educate students on vocal music, singing techniques, and life as a professional musician.
The evening performance will bring the community together with a portion of profits going directly to the Norway music program. The "Knight Moves" Vocal Jazz Choir under the direction of Dawn Kranz will perform a selection with the Cat's Pajamas at the concert.
The Cat's Pajamas recently received national acclaim on NBC's hit show "The Sing Off," and" The Oprah Show." However, the group spends the majority of each year performing full time in Branson at The Andy Williams Moon River Theatre.
