The Super Dooper Yoopers experienced a "very special evening" during last week's visit to see Tommy Izzo's Michigan State Spartans.

The Yoopers, a group from the Iron Mountain-Kingsford area, made their 14th bus journey to East Lansing. They have yet to see MSU lose, with Purdue (84-61) the latest victim in Tommy becoming the third winningest coach in Big Ten history behind Bobby Knight and Gene Keady.

The area also lost Crystal Falls' Malcolm McNeil, a U.P. Hall of Fame promoter and among the all-time great nice people ...

From Brad Dickson, Omaha World Herald: "The disturbing thing about the national championship game was that A.J. McCarron's girlfriend got more air time on ESPN than the entire Notre Dame team ...

Detroit Lions will pick fifth in the National Football League draft. CBSSports.com looks for the Lions to take Notre Dame linebacker and Heisman Trophy finalist Manti Te'o.

That same site has the Packers grabbing Central Michigan University tackle Eric Fisher. If he's just half as good as former Chips line stars Chuck Pellegrini and Paul Jacobson, I'd take him in a heartbeat ...
