FLORENCE, Wis. - An Iron River man has been sentenced to serve eight months in the Florence County Jail for a theft charge.

Anthony John Cava, 29, was sentenced on one misdemeanor count of theft of movable property-less than $2,500.

He had originally been charged with one felony count of burglary to a building or dwelling, one felony count of victim intimidation, one misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property, and the misdemeanor theft count.

The felony charges were dropped when Florence County Court Judge Leon D. Stenz failed to find probable cause during Cava's preliminary examination.

The criminal damage to property charge was dismissed as part of a plea deal.

According to the criminal complaint in the case, Cava is accused of taking items from a relative's home in Tipler, Wis. on Aug. 18.
