NIAGARA - Dwight M. Henley, 65, of Niagara, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at his home.
Dwight was born on Sept. 30, 1947, in Jasper, Ala., the son of the late Olis and Virginia (Morrow) Henley.
Dwight has been a resident of this area for the past 10 years, coming from Owosso, Mich. He worked for General Motors in the Fischer Body Fleetwood/Cadillac Division for 31 years, retiring in 1998. Following his retirement, Dwight operated a charter fishing service out of Sheboygan, Wis., for several years. He also did some consulting work for the automotive industry.
Dwight was a gifted handyman and could make or repair just about anything. His love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors is what brought him to this area after his retirement.
He married the former Nancy (Logan) Payette on Oct. 4, 2003, in Iron Mountain.
Dwight especially loved spending time with his great-grandson, Aden.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Dwight Henley II of Coldwater, Mich.; stepson, Jeffrey Payette of Green Bay; stepdaughter, Ann Marie (Kurt) Sauld of Niagara; sister, Jean (Ronald) Tyree of Harvest, Ala.; brother-in-law, Jim Logan of Iron Mountain; granddaughter, Trina Johnson; great-grandchildren, Aden and Dean Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Henley.
At Dwights request, there will be no funeral services. Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
