IRON MOUNTAIN - James A. Londree, 71, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Dickinson County Healthcare System.
He was born on Jan. 18, 1941, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Harvey and Dorothy (Cramer) Londree. Jim has been a resident of this area his entire life and worked as an iron pourer for Grede Foundries for 37 years, retiring in 2002.
Jim loved to fish and also enjoyed cooking, playing golf, reading Louis L'Amour western novels, solving crossword puzzles and watching old westerns on television. Over the past few years, he has enjoyed spending the winter months in Arizona. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary.
He is survived by his children, Wendee (Donald) Pete of Long Lake, Wis., Tracy (Mace) Mattison of Amberg, Wis., James "Scott" (Kim) Londree of Iron Mountain, Melissa (Bob) Ashburn of Amberg, Wis., Jamie (Brian) Massicotte of Kingsford, Lonny Petermore of Minnesota and Kevin Petermore of New Jersey; his sister, Yvonne (Bruce) Bianco of Iron Mountain; brother, William (Stephanie) Londree of Ventura, Calif.; grandchildren, Skylynn (Doug) Nelson, Megan (Tom White) Mattison, Matthew (Anne) Nord, James C. Londree, Bryce (Chandra) Londree, Amber Londree, Keith Hanson, Ann Massicotte, Jordan Massicotte, Brittany and Kevin Petermore; and nine great-grandchildren. He was also survived by a special friend, whom he loved dearly, Dianne Izzo; and his first wife and lifelong friend, Sandra Paquette.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Mary and his brother Louis Londree.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Wilton will officiate.
