IRON MOUNTAIN - A suspect believed to be involved in an armed robbery in Escanaba was spotted in Iron Mountain on Monday evening.
Police scanner radio indicated that Iron Mountain Police Department officers were called to Little Caesars Pizza on Stephenson Avenue at approximately 6:25 p.m. on Monday to check on a suspicious individual.
The vehicle the man was driving matched a vehicle being sought on an Upper Peninsula-wide BOL (be on the lookout) alert as a vehicle used in an armed robbery in Escanaba. The man was believed to be armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
The vehicle, a dark-colored Ford Taurus, was later spotted northbound on M-95. Dickinson County law enforcement personnel checked M-95 from Breitung Township to U.S. 41 in Marquette County, but it was not located.
Dickinson County Dispatch notified authorities in Florence County and Marinette County in Wisconsin of the sighting.
