Some areas near Lake Superior will see a decent amount of snowfall today, weather officials reported. Six to 10 inches of snow is expected in Munising.

With that, the Dickinson County area may see flurries today and some light snow on Tuesday afternoon into the evening hours. A half an inch of snow may accumulate.

Temperatures will climb into the 40s by the weekend.

Area police reported the holiday weekend to be uneventful with no major traffic accidents.

In Wisconsin, the snow coupled with strong winds led to challenging driving conditions in some spots over the holiday weekend. Roads in the northern half of Wisconsin were snow covered, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said several long stretches were slippery.

Similar driving conditions were reported in central Minnesota.

Minnesota State Patrol reported that troopers responded to hundreds traffic crashes. No serious injuries were reported.
