ISHPEMING - Kingsford, in a "great meet to start off the season," swam past Ishpeming-Negaunee in the high school swimming opener.
The Flivver girls prevailed 99-77 while the boys rolled 101-74.
"IN is a team that is comparable in size and talent so it helps ease our swimmers into the competitive season," Kingsford Coach Keith Freeman said. "We had many swimmers who had to step out of their comfort zone to pull of our victories.
"If it had not been for them, I do not feel we would have won the meet. Everyone on the team gave me 100 percent tonight.
The Flivvers compete in Westwood next on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
