FLORENCE, Wis. - An Iron Mountain woman has been charged with felony drug possession in Florence County Court.
Medea Ann Klima, 26, faces one felony count of possession of morphine and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
If convicted, she could spend up to three years and six months in prison.
Klima is scheduled for an initial appearance in Florence County Court on Nov. 27.
The charges against Klima stem from an Oct. 20 incident in Florence.
According to the criminal complaint in the case, a deputy from the Florence County Sheriff's Department conducted a traffic stop on Klima's vehicle on U.S. 2 near North Lake Road. During the stop, the deputy noticed that Klima had what appeared to be injection marks from intravenous drug use on her hand.
The deputy proceeded to search Klima's vehicle and purse, and found a burn-marked spoon, syringes, white powder residue, and tablets.
Klima's passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Clifford James Huffman of Iron Mountain, was charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
