District final coaches will find weaknesses; Who's Gordy Lund?

If there's any flaws to expose in today's Division 5 football district final, look for Kingsford's Chris Hofer and Menominee's Joe Noha to find them.

"Both teams are good at finding weaknesses," Noha told Tom (Richie) Kaeser of The EagleHerald. "They look for mismatches. That's what coaches do. Adjustments are going to be made going into the game."

The Flivvers and Maroons clash at 1 this afternoon at Menominee.

With Menominee scoring late in the game and trailing 14-13 in the September meeting with Kingsford, Noha went for two and failed. Would he go for two again with the game on the line?

"You'd better believe it," he said. ...

Anybody in "Scuttle Land" ever hear of former baseball major leaguer Gordy Lund?

Lund, born in Iron Mountain, played for the Cleveland Indians and Seattle Pilots. He also managed in the Chicago White Sox farm system.
