IRON MOUNTAIN - The National Weather Service (NWS) issued severe weather statements for much of local area this morning.
There was a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 9:45 a.m. today for all of Florence County.
In Michigan, a severe thunderstorm watch was in effect until 2 p.m. today for Dickinson, Iron, Menominee, Delta, Baraga, Marquette, and Alger counties.
According to NWS, severe thunderstorms can produce damaging winds, large hail, and deadly lightning.
