IRON MOUNTAIN - Bellin Health will mark the grand opening of its new medical center, Bellin Health Iron Mountain, with a public open house this Saturday.
The open house is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at 440 Woodward Ave.
The free event will feature tours of the new facility, opportunities to meet with the physician team and staff and refreshments.
The new facility gives the health care team additional space and the ability to offer more efficient and timely service for patients.
"Our new facility will help us better provide timely and appropriate services for the people in our region," said Anne Graham, clinic manager. "This is important because we know that when it's easier to get services, people are more likely to use them and follow up on treatment recommendations. It enhances the whole health care process, ultimately improving the overall health of the population, which is our No. 1 goal."
The $3 million, 18,000-square-foot facility includes services such as access to laboratory and X-ray in partnership with Dickinson County Hospital; a patient health educator to aid patient efforts to control diabetes, manage weight, or quit smoking; and improved access to specialty services such as cardiology.
Providers at the facility include some from the relocated Bellin Health U.P.
Primary Care clinics in Kingsford and on Stephenson Avenue in Iron Mountain.
They are: James Batti, MD, Alexander Judy, MD, Rebecca Larsen, FNP-C, Stephen Leonard, MD, Daniel McMahon, MD, Ellen Van Laanen, DO, Barbara Washington, MD, and Dennis Ziemba, DO.
