FLORENCE, Wis. - A Florence man has been sentenced to prison for committing substantial battery against his mother.

Florence County District Attorney Douglas Drexler said that 24-year-old Forrest Chadwick Biller will spend one and a half years in prison followed by two years of extended supervision.

Biller was originally charged with one felony count of substantial battery, one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, and one misdemeanor count of bail jumping.

Pursuant to a plea deal with Drexler, Biller agreed to plead guilty to substantial battery. The misdemeanor counts were dismissed.

The charges stem from an Aug. 3 incident in Florence.

According to the criminal complaint in the case, Biller got into an argument with his mother at a Florence bar regarding a Green Bay Packers/Detroit Lions football game from last season.

When they returned home, the argument continued.

Biller then pushed his mother onto a brick patio, causing her to fall and break her arm in three places.

In other Florence County Court action:

- Drexler dismissed felony charges against three Dickinson County residents.

Korina Renee Beauchamp, 20, of Kingsford; Christopher Vincent Holmberg, 21, of Iron Mountain; and Daniel Scott Schuirmann, 23, of Iron Mountain had each faced one felony count of uttering a forgery.

Drexler explained that he dismissed the charges because the three will be pleading to the underlying crimes of theft of checks and forgery in Michigan.

According to the criminal complaint, they allegedly stole 10 checks from an Iron Mountain woman, then wrote out and cashed the checks at various Aurora, Wis. businesses.

"We got the restitution for our businesses in Wisconsin, so we're satisfied," Drexler added.
