The investigation revealed that a GMC pickup truck pulled into the highway from a business parking lot and was north bound when it struck a southbound Chevrolet Impala.

Four people in the Impala from Ishpeming were seriously injured.

They were the driver, a 44-year-old woman and her two teen-age daughters and 13-year-old son.

All four were transported to Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette.

The boy was pronounced dead from his injuries while en route to the hospital, Sheriff Sauve said.

The three females were treated and later transferred to a Green Bay hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 28-year-old man from Wausaukee, was arrested and lodged in Marinette County Jail on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death and serious injury.

He was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff's Office and Marinette County Coroner George Smith.

The named of the deceased and injured and arrested person will be released later, Sheriff Sauve said. This is Marinette County's 11th traffic fatality this year.
