Lydia Peruzzi

IRON MOUNTAIN - Lydia Peruzzi, 99, of Iron Mountain, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain.

She was born March 18, 1913, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Anton and Tomaide (Tomassoni) Petroni. Lydia graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1931.

She married Joseph Peruzzi on Sept. 12, 1936, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1996.

Lydia was a bookkeeper for the family business, Kist Bottling Co., for 21 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, past regent of the Daughters of Isabella, Paisano Club, and Women's Auxiliary of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Anthony J. (Sheila) Petroni of Fish Creek, Wis., Susan Hammond of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and William (Linda) Hammond of Holliston, Mass.; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jacquelyn (William) MacMillion, Dominic Petroni, Lucy (Jared) Stuart, Lauren (Benjamin) Rachman, and Abigail and Zachary Hammond; great-great nieces and great-great nephews, Josephine MacMillion, Nora and Liam Stuart, and Henry Rachman; cousins, Jack (Rita) Calcaterra, Bill Calcaterra, Audrey (Edward) Calcaterra-Jensen, and Daniel (Rosemary) Stanchina; and goddaughter, Bernie (Jim) Blomquist.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lydia was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Petroni and his wife, Elsie Petroni; one sister, Ann Nardi and her husband Emil Nardi.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Prayers will be offered 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate.

Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery in Norway.
