IRON MOUNTAIN - The Daughters of Isabella Congress Circle 367 will meet Thursday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Faith Formation Center in Iron Mountain, with Marge Menghini, Dee Cowell and Betty Mitchell as the committee.
All members are encouraged to attend and guests and prospective members are welcome.
Regent Marcene Fuse opened the D of I Aug. 2 meeting by welcoming members.
In the absence of Chancellor Louise Plante, Peggy St. Louis led the opening prayer. The charter was draped in memory of Betty Pirlot who died on June 10. Prayers were offered for her and the song "Oh What Could My Jesus Do More" was sung in her memory.
Secretary Peggy gave a spiritual reading entitled "The Cross."
Regent Marcene led the pledge to the flag and to the state of Michigan.
Regent Marcene announced that the ticket the circle purchased from the Michigan State Circle fund-raiser in may resulted in them winning second prize of $60. This was a welcome surprise, notes members.
The Hail Mary person or the month of August will be Rose Vondale, who is at Freeman's. A card will be sent to her.
The Regent announced that the tickets for the Carmelite Tea drawing are now available and encouraged all to purchase for the good of the Sisters yearly fund-raiser.
The obligation was taken and the drill had for the good of the order.
"Open My Eyes Lord" was sung and all held hands in unity for the closing prayer and D of I song.
Hostesses were Gail Danielson and Egina Sparpani providing the lunch, followed by playing of cards. Cash winners were Dorothy Burkart and Rose Dishaw in Push and Marge Menghini, first and Lu Villa, second in bridge.
