IRON MOUNTAIN - Cassie Fehr, a 2012 Iron Mountain High School graduate and Evan Kruppstadt, a 2012 Kingsford High School graduate, have completed their music studies at Thunder Island School of Music.

Fehr has 11 years of piano lesson from Naomi Danielson and Judy Magnuson while attending Thunder Island School of Music. Under Magnuson's supervision, Fehr earned top ratings at the Wisconsin Schools Music Association's (WSMA's) both District and State Solo Ensemble competitions during the past two years of her piano performances. During high school she also earned top ratings for her saxophone performances.

She plays the alto, tenor and soprano saxophones. She participates at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and has taken organ lessons from Betty Soderberg for the past six years and has been a member of the choir for the past five years.

She has been involved in marching, jazz and concert band at school. She feels that music is a way for her to creatively express herself. She plans to expand her knowledge of music.

Cassie is the daughter of Peter and Renee Fehr of Iron Mountain and will attend Central Michigan University and major in a health field and music.

Evan Kruppstadt has six years of piano lessons at from Magnuson. While a student there, Magnuson also served as accompanist and coach for Evan's vocal and trombone performances for the WSMA District and State Solo Ensemble competitions, where Evan received top ratings at both levels during high school.

Evan participated in marching, jazz, and concert bands as well as chorus in high school and rounded out his local music studies during that time with four years of private vocal instruction with Lorna March, two years of private trombone lessons from Greg Hunt, three years as a member of the Dickinson County Band and two years as a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church choir.

Evan is the son of Adam and Christine Kruppstadt of Kingsford and will attend Carroll University this fall majoring in vocal and instrumental music performance and biology.
