Richie Stanek and the Vansmen to play Friday at IM Senior Center

IRON MOUNTAIN - Richie Stanek and the Vansmen will be playing for the dance at the Iron Mountain Senior Center on Friday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The band plays many styles of music.

"If you would like to dance to 'Hello Dolly,' 'Whispering,' 'Cab Driver,' 'Please Don't Be Angry' 'Downtown Stutters Ball,' 'Pennsylvania Polka' or the 'Blue Skirt Waltz' this is the band for you," said a Center spokesperson.

Richie plays the accordion and Dutch Vanderzeyden plays the saxophone and clarinet. He also does vocals and Bruno Scarite is in charge of the drums.

"Come to the dance on Friday night to enjoy dancing and listening to the great big band sound of yesterday," she adds.

Admission is $8 and includes snacks and coffee. Persons can bring beverages of their choice. All ages are welcome and encouraged to come.

The next dance will be July 27. Persons are asked to bring a dish to pass for a picnic. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with supper at 6 p.m. and dancing at 7 p.m.
