One car personal injury accident

Iron Mountain Police Department officers were dispatched to a one-car personal injury accident on U.S. 2 in front of Edwards Chevrolet at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

A north-bound vehicle driven by a 70-year-old man from Bramton, Ontario, Canada, left the roadway, struck a manhole, rolled over and then struck a power pole, said Lt. Ed Mattson of the Iron Mountain Police Department.

As a result of the accident, several vehicles in the Edwards Chevrolet parking lot were damaged from flying debris, Lt. Mattson said.

The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries as a result of the accident, but denied medical treatment.

A front-seat passenger did not receive any injuries. The accident remains under investigation at this time, Lt. Mattson said. Assisting at the scene was Beacon Ambulance as well as the Iron Mountain Fire Department.
