IRON MOUNTAIN - All area ladies are invited to attend the Dickinson Area Christian Women's Connection monthly luncheon on Wednesday, June 13, at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Key note speaker Colleen Keen from Monroe, Wis., will share her award winning "Recipe For Life." She is a licensed dietitian and certified natural health practitioner, working in senior nutrition programs and assisted senior living for 20 years.
Keen will give insight to a variety of health issues such as why some people lose their sense of taste and smell. If you have developed brown spots on your skin what does this mean? Keen will have healthy tips with suggestions of foods to lessen risks for Alzheimer's, lowering high blood pressure, diabetes.
Jennifer Alwine of Vulcan will be the special guest singer. Alwine has participated in many musical competitions in which she received high honors.
She was accepted into the Upper Peninsula Youth Choir with NMU three years in a row, and travels throughout the Midwest singing. She is a regular entertainer for the Iron Mountain Farmer's Market, and "Just for Kix," a U.P. dance group, where she performs and emcees.
Alwine provides music for all occasions; weddings, parties, benefits, church groups, and fundraisers. She will begin her mini concert at 11:30 a.m. for early arrivals.
The menu includes chicken salad served on cracked wheat berry bread, fruit and vegetable garnish, strawberry shortcake and coffee.
Cost of the luncheon is $14 inclusive with free nursery available upon reservation. Please provide children's names and ages. Those needing express table accommodations please note that with your reservation.
