Badgers:Carlton 10th
LA CROSSE, Wis. - Niagara's Jenna Carlton placed 10th in the WIAA Division 3 state 800-meter run Saturday.
The junior posted a time of 2:24.38.
Elizabeth Pospyhalla of Edgar won the state 800-meter title in 2:17.38.
'Athlete':Banquet June 6
IRON MOUNTAIN - Hometowne Lumber Athletes of the Year will be announced at the annual banquet Wednesday, June 6, at the Elks Club.
The top female and male high school athletes from the local area will be named.
This year's banquet, with U.S. Olympic snowboarder Nick Baumgartner of Iron River serving as guest speaker, begins at 5:30 p.m. Tickets ($12) can be purchased at the door. The public is invited.
Ski jumping:Kiwanis meeting
IRON MOUNTAIN - Kiwanis Ski Club will meet at 6:30 tonight in the clubhouse.
Horseshoe:Opener June 5
FELCH - Felch Horseshoe League will begin Tuesday, June 5.
Warm-ups start at 6 p.m., with competition at 6:30 p.m.
