FELCH - Adam Oslund's walk-off single capped a final-inning rally and Felch opened the Wishigan Baseball League season with a 7-6 victory over the Kingsford Kings at Memorial Field.
Kingsford, trailing 5-2 after six innings, plated four runs in the top of the seventh inning for a 6-5 lead. Felch responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
In the seventh for the host Rangers, Barry Holsworth's third hit of the game got things started. After Luke Holsworth hit into a fielder's choice, Garth Budek tripled home the tying run.
Oslund followed with a line drive over the left-fielder's head for the game-winner.
In addition to Barry Holsworth's three hits, Felch's offense came from Wade Holsworth, two singles; Bill Tuck, double; Budek, single and triple, and Oslund, two singles.
Tuck pitched into the seventh inning where Wade Holsworth retired the final batter.
Evan Neuens doubled and singled for Kingsford.
Both teams return to Wishigan play on Sunday, with Felch (1-0) facing Menominee at Memorial Field and Kingsford (0-2) visiting Negaunee Tri-City.
