IRON MOUNTAIN - Art works will again be exhibited on Saturday, June 23, at Art for All 2012 in Iron Mountain.
This year's Dickinson County Council for the Arts' Art for All, is dedicated to Margaret (Magee) Johnson, who started Art for All 45 years ago.
In tribute to Johnson, the Magee Johnson Purchase Awards will be presented this year. Cash prizes will also be given for each of the local-business-sponsored awards including the People's Choice Award, Best of Show Award, and the Award of Excellence.
More than 50 artists are anticipated to exhibit again at this year's show.
Art for All continues to attract artists and artisans from across the country to participate in this high-talent one-day show.
Each artist's body of work is subject to a rigorous jurying process ensuring the show will include an assortment of top-quality exhibitors.
A variety of specialties including painting, photography, jewelry, metal work, pottery, glass work, fiber arts, and wood work will be represented.
In addition to the array of works, musical entertainment and fabulous demonstrations will be featured.
A hands-on craft area will be open to children and adults alike. A variety of salads, sandwiches, and other food and drink will be made available by Subway, Crispigna's, the Red Cross, and additional vendors.
This year's silent auction has been expanded into two segments: the first set of art items will be displayed for auction in the morning; and a second group of items will be displayed in the afternoon for a separate auction.
As always, the proceeds from the auction go to provide support for local art programs through the Dickinson County Council for the Arts.
Art for All will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine at Bay College West campus on Saturday, June 23.
There will be no charge for parking or admission.
