IRON MOUNTAIN - The eighth annual Veteran Tribute Ride is scheduled for Saturday. In years past, between 200 and 400 motorcyclists participated in this ride to honor all veterans. All riders are welcome.
The ride starts at the Riverside Auto Sales on North U.S. 2 in Iron Mountain.
Registration is from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with a blessing of the bikes at 9:45 a.m. Ride will depart at 10:05 a.m., going to the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center for a ceremony then to Crandon, Wis. at the Crandon Veterans Park for a Native American Veteran ceremony. Lunch will follow the ceremony.
The riders will arrive at the C & R Bar in Aurora, Wis. around 4 p.m., where a chicken and spaghetti dinner will be served beginning at 5 p.m.
Door prizes will be drawn at 6 p.m. and silent auctions will end at 7 p.m. Participants must be present to win for drawings. Music by "Keep It Secret" will top off the day.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to various veterans organizations. Last year's donations and community support enabled them to help 12 different veteran organizations.
"We appreciate your support for our veterans and welcome you to send off all of our riders along the tribute ride route," organizers said.
Cost is $15 per bike rider, which includes lunch, dinner, raffles and dancing. Riders in active duty in uniform ride free.
The public is welcome to dine and enjoy music at the C & R Bar for $15 per person.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be at the Riverside Auto Sales then departing at 11:05 a.m., with a drive through at Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center so veterans do not have to sit out in the inclement weather.
