Florence High School names top 10 percent

FLORENCE, Wis. - Florence High School has announced the students in the top ten percent of the graduating class of 2012.

Jackson Baumgart is the son of Nick Baumgart and Anne Leschke of Spread Eagle, Wis.

Upon graduation, Baumgart plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse to major in elementary education.

Baumgart is a member of the National Honor Society, TORPEDOS, varsity basketball team, baseball team, Hi-Q, and cross country team.

Outside of school, he is an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and spends many hours volunteering for St. Vincent de Paul in Florence.

Jazmyne Franklin is the daughter of Sean Franklin of Iron Mountain and Tina Franklin of Aurora, Wis.

Franklin will attend the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse to pursue a degree in physical therapy.

Throughout high school, Franklin has participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, National Honor Society, student council, and TORPEDOS.

Franklin also works at Dina Mia's restaurant, and she is an intern at Florence Elementary School.

Halee Martin is the daughter of Jim and Jeneen Martin of Spread Eagle.

In the fall, Martin will attend St. Norbert College for a pre-medical major.

Martin has been active in jazz band, pep band, Hi-Q, TORPEDOS, National Honor Society, student council, and Poms.

Outside of school, Martin has participated in the Badwaters Ski-ters.

Abbie Waliczek is the daughter of Rob and Allison Waliczek of Spread Eagle.

Upon graduation, Waliczek will attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to purse a degree in nursing.

Waliczek is the secretary of the National Honor Society, vice president of the student council, editor of the yearbook, and a member of TORPEDOS.

Also, Waliczek has been a competitive dancer for many years at Julie's Top Hat Dance Studio.
