NORWAY - Registration is under way for the 2012-13 school year.
Currently, there are more than 800 students in grades preschool-12, and included in the preschool and pre-kindergarten program is a full-time daycare.
"At Norway-Vulcan Area Schools we are glad to have parents as a partner in their child's education," said a school official.
The elementary office is accepting registration for kindergarten and developmental-kindergarten. Kindergarten classes and developmental kindergarten classes are both full-day five days a week. Children must be five years of age before Dec. 1, 2012, for both kindergarten and developmental kindergarten.
Norway-Vulcan Community Schools will be offering both pre-kindergarten and preschool classes again for the 2012-13 school year. Because a limited number of students are allowed for each class, registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
Pre-Kindergarten will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This class is for 4-5 year olds who will be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2013. Classes will run on the same schedule as the public school calendar.
Preschool classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This class is for 3 to 4 year-olds who may have not had any previous experience with a school setting. Classes will run on the same schedule as the public school calendar.
The daycare program is available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and also includes school vacations and summer vacation. The daycare is located inside the elementary school. Cost is only $2.75 per hour for each child with additional siblings at $2.50 per hour.
