MARINETTE, Wis. - The annual Spring Plant Sale, sponsored by Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association, will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Harmony Arboretum Garden Site, which is located on County E, half mile south of Highway 64, seven miles west of Marinette. Persons can watch for signs.
A wide selection of plants grown by master gardener volunteers will be sold, including annuals, perennials, herbs, and vegetables. Proceeds from the sale are applied to the expansion Harmony Gardens and to provide educational programs to the community. Progress on the Children's Garden continues and Master Gardener Volunteers have been preparing for the 2012 growing season and programs.
Extension horticulture staff will also be on hand to answer plant questions and identify pest problems. Bring along your samples.
The vision of Northern Lights Master Gardeners is to develop the arboretum into a community destination point for young and old alike. Become a "Friend of Harmony" by lending assistance with site development, maintenance, or sponsorship.
Members of Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association, a volunteer non-profit organization, have completed the Wisconsin Master Gardener certification.
