SPRINGFIELD, MO - Only two teams - Grace Bible College and Kuyper College - from the Midwest Regional gained invitations to this week's NCCAA Division 2 men's basketball national tournament at Central Bible College.
Three-time defending national champion Grace defeated Kuyper, coached by former Iron Mountain resident Stan Jesky, to capture the regional at Northland International University.
Kuyper, seeded fifth, faces tourney host Central Bible (No. 12) at 8 tonight in its first national tourney appearance. Grace Bible, seeded second, begins Thursday afternoon against Hillsdale (No. 7) or Manhattan (No. 10).
Kuyper defeated Grace Bible College twice during the regular season but lost to Grace in the regional tournament final.
