IRON RIVER - Ceceil Zielinski, 87, of Iron River, died Thursday November 5, 2009, at the Northstar Health System in Iron River.

She was born June 12, 1922, in Baltic Location in Gaastra, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Bessie (Johnston) Rhino. She was a lifelong resident of the area, and attended the Stambaugh schools, graduating with the Class of 1940.

She married Joseph W. Zielinski and the couple made their home in Iron River. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1976.

She was employed for 12 years at the American Motors/Coleman Plant in Iron River, retiring in 1986 when the plant closed.

Ceceil was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River volunteering for any activity needed. She was also a member of the St Agnes Altar Society, the Daughters of Isabella and the Rosary Sodality.

She is survived by her son, John (Bonnie) Zielinski of Mackinaw City, Mich.; her daughter, Jean Zielinski of Plymouth, Mich.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Rhino.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. A Liturgical Prayer Service will be conducted at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River with the Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The Ladies of the Rosary Sodality will form an honor guard at the funeral service.

Interment in the Resthaven Cemetery in Iron River.
