Immaturity and disregard
EDITOR:I am totally embarrassed to call myself a Packer fan. There was no reason for these, in my opinion brain-donor egotistical fans to treat Brett Favre the way they did.
To me, the boos were a sign of total immaturity and disregard for all the good work Bret and his wife did for Green Bay.
He brought respectability back to Green Bay football.
Thanks to him, Green Bay is back on the map.
So those of you who booed him, again in my opinion, are idiots.

they were the enemy comming on the field . its football and rivalry, he took it in a sride as you should . i enjoyed watching brett win , i hate the vikings , im a packer fan and want them to win it all .but i just wanted the older guy to stick it to the packers for a little revenge thing , i did not like how they let him go like that ,rumour has it he was not listening to the coaches well maybe it was something they should have talked about when negociating his return....so he ends his legacy w another team , go pack, hope they are proud of there decision. and im sure they lose in the end w the money .the big draw being brett the living legend ...so did they gain anything shutting out brett answer nooooooo the people lost, greenbay lost , fans across the country lossed..but i hope the big loss was the packer big wigs and crybabys that handled it like they did . ...so go brett

The behavior of the crowd was the epitome of a lack of sportsmanship. How much someone pays for a ticket is irelavant, and having a ticket doesn't give anyone the right to be an A $ SS. I hope you never have to make decisions in real life that actually impact people...scary.

Brett Favre is probably the best Packer player to ever grace the field. He deserves the greatest praise and appreciation....once he finally decides to retire and get rid of the gold/purple uniform! Until then, he is on the wrong side. If you don't believe that, then you are a Brett Favre fan and not a true Packer fan!!!

Oh, almost forgot. Barry it's a two way street he put GB back on the map, but devoted Packer Fans supported him through his drug addiction, the death of his father, his wife's battle with cancer, and we helped when his home town was devestated by Katrina. I think they have the right to boo and harass the enemy.

It's OK Barry, in case you hadn't noticed he's wearing purple and white and not green and gold any more. He's the enemy now!

I agree, Barry, I like to think that Packer fans are are better than the fans of many "thug" teams that continuously make themselves look like morons by the thug mentality. Our people are better than that....at least I thought we were until I, too, was humiliated by the poor behavior reflected at Lambeau.

He may have brought respectability back to Green Bay football, but he also manipulated Packer management with his retire/not retire annual event that eventually forced their hand. He further manipulated the scenario by retiring from the Jets to get out of the "no trade to the NFC North" restriction in place so he could go to the Vikings. I am a lifelong Packer fan and appreciate everything he did for the team. I think his number should be retired based on his accomplishments. His recent behavior was frustrating and was a sign of a self serving attitude. Favre may have set a lot of records in his career, but his recent actions prove beyond a doubt that the greatest quarterback in Green Bay remains Bart Starr.
