File the grievance

POSTED: November 6, 2009

EDITOR:I am writing this as a service to our community for parents that are struggling with Dickinson County Friend of the Court.

After doing some research, I discovered that Michigan law provides ways to express concerns about operations of the friend of the court offices.

The alternative ways are to submit written comments to the chief judge of the court (Honorable Richard J. Celello, Chief Judge) in response to the annual review of the friend of the court.

Each year, chief judges are required to conduct a review of the friend of the court, normally in June. All comments and grievances received are included in the summary of the review and the report is filed in July.

Another alternative to comment on friend of the court operations is through a local citizen advisory committee. Each county's board of commissioners or executive is to appoint a citizen advisory committee for the friend of the court office.

That committee is advisory only, but among its duties is a requirement to advise the chief judge and the county board of commissioners about the friend of the court's duties and performance and the community's needs relating to the office's services.

A citizen advisory committee can only respond to grievances related to a business operations issue of the friend of the court office. Contact your county commissioner or a representative of the board of commissioners for information about your county's citizen advisory committee.

Always remember that if you have filed a grievance and were not satisfied with the response or actions were taken against you, you should file the grievance again with the chief judge of the court (Honorable Richard J. Celello, Chief Judge).

yup the court house has serious problems .they get away w alot because the lawyers here have no balls like the court appointed lawyer jazzbag or jaspn or jizlip not sure of his name but he has really bad suits too. but when your in cahoots the system fails and prosecuters, police, judges do what ever they want , where does that leave you .bent over .

I know first hand what fileing a grievance against the FOC can do.. NOTHING .. Of course, the FOC stated that the nature of the grievance never happened, and so Judge Celello and the FOC denied the grievance.

bluebird, you see too much of that all over and it is rediculous that some are able to obtain custody just because they behaved for a week or so but was a menace to society the rest of there life causing the child so much pain and unstableness. Sick

Go ahead and file all the complaints you want,it doesn't change a thing. It isn't only this office it's the judge that doesn't have a clue.Giving custody of a child to someone who shouldn't be allowed to raise a dog.She did get a slap on the wrist for some of her mistakes but this mistake cost this child pain and suffering. Some people have no common sense so back to court we go.Maybe this time she'll get it right!!

sorry for the spelling errors, this is a bad subject as that office is a JOKE plain and simple.

And some are right it IS who you know as you would be surprised at the stuff that is repeated to the other party in cases when you call or stop in to question anything.

Filing a grievance, writing lansing, writing the paper and exc.... for a couple years continuously finally got Labonte out of that office only to be replaced with someone of the same nature, not caring. The judge in the end apologigized for the misconduct of the Friend of the Court but that does not make up for the time lost with the child.

Matt Edgar:That, people is how things get done,Because Honorable Richard J. Celello, Chief Judge. Is a POLITICIAN that wants to be reelected I have heard he is fair to..Also if nothing gets done there is other remedies one for example Judicial Tenure commission and claim sexual discrimination. If people did a little paper work and read how to file papers things can change.I did there is remedies in the system
