Safe and beautiful horse trails

POSTED: November 5, 2009

EDITOR:Members of the Northern Saddle Club and local area equestrian owners would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Florence County Department of Forestry and Parks for their support in improving the equestrian trails in Florence County this year.

The Halls Creek and Bush Lake Flats trails south of Florence are very safe and beautiful trails.

Trail projects this year consisted of improved trail markers and installation of a kiosk or bulletin board at both trails- also improved parking and access to the Halls Creek trail.

We would like to acknowledge Patrick Smith and his crew at the Florence County Department of Forestry and Parks for their help with these improvements. We would also like to acknowledge Nathan Ruble, director of the Florence County Natural Resource and Interpretive Center, for his help in developing the new colored maps. The new maps are available through him or online at

florencewisconsin.com

Trail grant money from the Wisconsin State Horse Council was used to purchase materials for the projects at both trails.
