Christian Women's Connection lunch Nov. 11

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Dickinson Area Christian Women's Connection will host their monthly luncheon Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The speaker this month is Lee Ann Steffens of Pewaukee, Wis. Lee Ann is the married mother of two teenage children, her son is a computer whiz and her daughter competes in English and Western riding with her Arabian horse in the 4-H program.

Taking business courses helped Lee Ann as a sales director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, she even earned a Pink Cadillac. She is also a part-time multi-media presentations consultant as well as a Christian inspirational speaker.

Lee Ann will share with us how from a young age she was filled with anxiety and depression and thought that overcoming her fears would make everything go away. This drive caused her to become a perfectionist. By the time she was in her late teens, she had developed an eating disorder. This illness wasn't widely recognized 35 years ago, so help was not easily accessible. She responded to a friend's invitation to know more about Jesus and trusted Him to bring her through the difficult healing process.

She will be providing our special feature for the day showing us a little bit about the art of lapidary - cutting, grinding, sanding, and polishing stones and slabs and creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry.

Corinne Scott, a local pianist, will help us honor all of the female veterans present with a special song.

The menu will feature turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, salad, coffee, milk, and pumpkin bars for dessert.

All are welcome and invited to attend. Cost of the luncheon is $13 inclusive with free nursery available upon reservation. Please provide children's names and ages.

Reservations are required by Nov. 8. Call Ann Brasure at 906-776-0367 or e-mail Sherri Erickson at sherrilynnerickson@sbcglobal.net
