IRON RIVER - West Iron's Desi Rasmussen received honorable mention to the All-West PAC volleyball.

Calumet's Kathleen Moyryla, a senior middle hitter, was named the league's Player of the Year in coaches' balloting. Her coach, Lisa Twardzik, was named Coach of the Year for leading the Copper Kings to an undefeated regular season and a 10-0 conference record.

Joining Moyryla on the first team are two Calumet teammates: senior outside hitter Stephanie Bonenfant and middle hitter Jenna Hyrkas. Three Houghton Gremlins are on the first team: senior libero Sam Barna, senior outside hitter Hailee Luke and junior setter Frances Kallio. Also representing the Class of 2011 on the first team is Hancock middle hitter Maria Almquist.

The second team was composed of Houghton's Natalie Berryman and Rachel Crane, Calumet's Abby Junttila and Marisa Torola, Hancock outside hitter Briana Raasio and Ironwood outside hitter Taylor Dufault.
