Volleyball districts start Tuesday

IRON MOUNTAIN - Four area Michigan schools begin district volleyball tournaments Tuesday.

Forest Park and North Dickinson start Class D play at different sites.

Skyline Conference champion Forest Park meets Ewen Trout-Creek at 5 p.m. at Bessemer. Winner faces Wakefield or Marenisco at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in the semifinals.

In the other half of the bracket, Bessemer takes on Watersmeet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the winner challenging Ontonagon at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Finals will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Bessemer.

In District 126, North Dickinson squares off with tourney host Carney-Nadeau at 6 p.m Thursday.

Superior Central confronts North Central in the tourney opener at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, with the winner hosting Bark River-Harris at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5.

North Dickinson-Carney will host the district finals Friday, Nov. 6.

Iron Mountain is the Class C District 95 host, with the Mountaineers battling Stephenson at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Tourney opens at 5 p.m. with Norway and West Iron County.

District final will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday.

In Class B District 64, Kingsford opens at Escanaba, with match time at 6 p.m. (Central time) Wednesday. A Flivver win sends the district finals to Kingsford at 6 p.m. Friday.

Regional tournaments take place Nov. 10 and 12.
