Downtown Ontonagon blaze

No injuries occurred in a large multi-building fire that consumed five structures in downtown Ontonagon Sunday. According to the Ontonagon Sheriff's Department, a fire broke out on Main Street in the western Upper Peninsula village at 5 a.m. Two buildings on one end of the block were saved from the blaze, and firefighters were still working at the scene Sunday afternoon. A sheriff's department spokesman said the cause of the fire had not been determined. No further information was available Sunday evening.
