Lorraine Howard

IRON MOUNTAIN - Lorraine B. Howard, 76, of 327 E. Ludington, Iron Mountain, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 17, 1932, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Joseph and Leona (Boucher) Broullire. Lorraine was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1950.

She married Harry Howard on May 2, 1953, at St. Mary Queen of Peace Church. Lorraine worked for the Fleury-Singler company for 34 years before retiring.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and a former member of Pine Grove Country Club. Lorraine and her husband worked as volunteers for bingo at the V.A. hospital.

She enjoyed golf, reading, and family gatherings with her nieces and nephews. She loved to bake and her family recalls how wonderful her brownies, pumpkin pie, and French meat pies were.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; two sisters, Jean (Richard) Abraham of Breitung Township and Adele (Neal) Doll of Downingtown, Pa.; six nieces and nephews, Michael (Margaret) Abraham, Cindy Abraham (Russ Pietschmann), Richard Abraham Jr., Chris (Jessica) Abraham, Sherry (Don) Spence and Tammy Doll; and eight grand-nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by an infant sister, Teresa Broullire.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church.

Burial will be in Cemetery Park. Pallbearers will be Richard, Chris, and Cindy Abraham, Russ Pietschmann, Joe Despins, and Jim Merrill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church landscaping fund.
