POSTED: May 12, 2008
MARQUETTE — A Quinnesec man was killed Sunday in a off-road motorcycle accident in Marquette County’s Humboldt Township.
Troopers from the Negaunee post of the Michigan State Police responded to the accident at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday.
Timothy Jay Groleau, 52, of Quinnesec, was riding a motorcycle north on a trail about a quarter mile north of County Road FFO and about four miles east of M-95 in southern Humboldt Township.
He was part of a group with two other riders, police said.
He lost control of the motorcycle for unknown reasons, leaving the trail and striking several trees, police said.
Groleau died from injuries sustained in the crash, police said. He was wearing appropriate full-protection riding gear at the time of the accident, police said.
An autopsy is scheduled for today, and investigation into the accident is ongoing, police said.
Groleau owned and operated the Lawn Service with his son, Roy, in the Dickinson County area.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Republic and Bell EMS, and Dickinson County Sheriff’s deputies.

Tim was a very nice person. I live a few blocks from his house. He would walk his dog just about every day and he would always say hi.Tim and his sons were into vintage snowmobiles. They have many trophies for showing them and also from racing them.Tim will truly be missed by his family and freinds. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. GOD BLESS!!!
