Recycling items can be dropped off on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the west side parking lot of the Crystal Lake Community Center, 800 Crystal Lake Blvd. in Iron Mountain.
All proceeds from the recycling event will help support the operation of 4-H Camp Molinare.
Items need to be separated and include all metals, paper products, all dry cell household batteries, cell phones, two-way radios, pagers and PDAs, cameras, calculators and small cordless tools.
Only domestic refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers will be accepted. A fee will be charged for commercial freon items.
Assisting residents during the recycling event will be
members, leaders and volunteers with the Dickinson County 4-H and the Michigan State University Extension.
At the site of the recycling will be a Trico truck for paper products and Schneider’s Iron & Metal Inc. bin for metals. All paper will go to the Trico Shelter worksite to help support the efforts of the shelter.
Residents that would like to drop off scrap metal at a different time can go to Schneider’s Iron & Metal and let them know that they want the proceeds sent to 4-H Camp Molinare, organizers added.
